JIM DIFFER
Drumming found Jim when he was in Grade 7. He was waiting in line for a saxophone but by the time it was his turn to choose an instrument, the music teacher announced to Jim that the only instrument left was a lonely snare drum.

The music teacher proceeded to hand him the snare drum and a pair of drumsticks to play while he waited for another sax to become available. He was hooked after the first rimshot and has been playing ever since!

Jim joined his first professional band when he was only seventeen years old. He has toured extensively in Canada and the U.S.A. in a variety of professional

bands from an original Canadian recording rock band (he won't tell us what decade that was in), as well as R & B, Blues and Country bands. He has played a wide variety of venues from small barns to large concert halls and just about everything in between.

Recently Jim has become interested in hand drumming and percussion and brings a wide variety of sounds and rhythmic ideas to Flamenco Caravan.
